Honeybees Spotlight: Tramera
By: Hornets.com | September 28, 2011

Hometown: Boutte.
Year as a Honeybee: First.

Previous dance experience:

I started dancing at the age of 2. By the age of 5, I was a competitive dancer going to numerous competitions and workshops across the country with Yvonne’s Directions in Dance in Lutcher. I was also a part of an off-Broadway show in New York City. I’ve taken classes from some great choreographers such as Tyce Diorio and Wade Robson (from the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance"). I was a part of my high school dance team for four years where I served as lieutenant my sophomore year, co-captain my junior year and captain my senior year at Hahnville High (shout out to the Hi-Steppers).

What I love about being a Honeybee:

I love being part of a well-rounded and amazing group of young ladies. We all have other obligations but to know that these ladies love to do the same thing as you is just heartwarming. Being a Honeybee comes with its perks. To know that little girls look up to you and want to be like you is the best feeling in the world. I am proud to say that I AM A HONEYBEE!

What I love about dancing:

Dancing is a form of expression. It allows you to become someone else without being judged. Once you hear the music and feel the beat, your worries go away. Whether it’s just dancing in your mirror or in the club, you are still dancing. I absolutely love to make others smile with my dancing. As soon as I step on the floor...and soon the court...I want people to walk away saying, "Wow, that was amazing!" I will never quit something I was born to do!

What I love about New Orleans:

What is there not to love about NOLA is the real question. There is so much the city has to offer from the Cajun style and soul food to the ageless history. New Orleans has amazing museums, great partying especially during Mardi Gras, and of course, the Hornets. You will never have a dull moment in the city, that’s for sure! Although the city has been through a rough time, we are rebuilding to be better than ever. I am proud to say I am from New Orleans!

What I love to do when I’m not performing with the Honeybees:

When I am not performing with the Honeybees, I am in school. When I’m not there, I love drawing, hanging out with friends and family, watching some TV and relaxing as much as I can.
